I took apart a lens to free the diaphragm. The diaphragm works fine now. However, I managed to dislodge the aperture ring and A/M ring and I have lost two ball bearings (1mm) and a spring (1mm x 3mm). Any suggestions where I can get some replacements (preferably a bag full 'cos I am bound to lose some more)? I found http://www.micro-tools.com/ online but they are a German site (and hence charge 9 euros to send 95p of balls) and they don't have any springs.

I have experienced the same problem myself in trying to source replacement springs.
In my case I managed to get hold of some fine wire and made my own sprongs, by twisting the wire around a sewing needle. Not perfect, but good enough to do the job.

If you want something more authentic, you could perhaps contact one of the repairs shops and ask if they would sell you a quantity.

It occurs to me that if you do track some springs and balls down, then maybe some members of this forum might be interestd in a joint purchase.

Try Simply Bearings Ltd; a packet of 10x 1mm chrome steel hardened ball bearings is 60p +VAT. Delivery is £1.25. Link to their relevant page: https://simplybearings.co.uk/shop/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_descripti...

Good luck!
