Paint shop pro and PEF

Greetings

I'm using Paint shop pro Ultimate Photo X2 ver. 12.50 and I have no problem reading DNG pictures from my K-x. But when I open a PEF file here's what happens:

Do newer pentax models (I got mine 3 weeks ago) generate different PEF files than older ones? I can see on the PSP website that it is compatible with K10, K20, K200, but no mention of K-x.

We just solved one and another colour problem pop up

It could be the colour profile that's wrong or maybe the white balance.
I don't have your program so you need to find those settings yourself.
If that didn't do a thing then clearly something else is wrong.

Pef files don't have generation but they are simply camera specific so they differ per camera model.

30s of google shows that that k-x is not supported yet as far as PEF is concerned and that you're not the only one.

It would also be great if there is something white and grey in the shot

Thanks everyone for your replies. I guess I'll have to wait for the next psp upgrade. I've switched to DNG which I guess has the same quality as PEF.

Yes DNG and PEF are the same quality.

How is the size between them, are the DNG of the K-X compressed as well so roughly the same size as the PEF?

I just took two pictures of my computer screen: DNG is 12 522 KB and PEF is 12 244 KB.

So DNG it will be.
