Out of the woods (2)

Another morning walk I hadn't done for ages. A bit hazy, but I preferred to leave it that way rather than try to process it out. I've chosen these mostly to illustrate the way land lies in our area - up and down as far as the eye can see. All with K-1 and DFA 28-105. Please feel free to comment. Hope you like them!

2, 3 and 7

2 & 3 - Love the hills in the distance that fade just to shades, these would look killer with a sunset or just after when they'll be lovely hues

7 - I like the scale to this, part of me wonders what it'd look like with the sky cropped and removed

Number 7 - great depth to the composition, in two of its three dimensions!

Its no. 10 for me, the lambs giving foreground interest, the water in the middle distance and then I like the way the hills layer away into the far distance. Brings back memories of walks I have done in the area.

Thanks for your comments - very interesting.
Gareth, I know what you mean about “shades” in the distance and I’m pleased you make that point as it’s just what I try to capture with images like these. I’m not so sure about cropping out the sky in 7 though - I think the short section of road winding up to the tiny buildings on the skyline helps emphasise the depth from top to bottom. I suspect that’s Philip’s point, too.

Paul, I’m glad you see 10 the way I wanted. I wondered if the lambs might be a bit naff but they do bring something to the foreground, don’t they.
John
