Ha ha - verrry cute. I also have the Tamron 17-50 and it is infamous for FF/BF. I tried out 3 copies before choosing the one I have and even that needed in-camera adjustment (+5). Awesome lense though.

That something I'd not considered Frogfish; adjusting the focus in camera. Is this possible on the K20D and K-m, and can you localise it to an indivial lens (does the camera remember what lens the adjustment is for?).

Yes (on the K20D, dunno about the Km) and yes. The K20D remembers up to 20 lenses if I recall correctly. My Tamron needed a -9 adjustment.

What lovely shots, Bob. In the second one, hasn't the lens focused on her patterned top?

Yes you might be right - even though the focus point was one of her eyes (cant remember which one). This would indeed suggest front focusing then.

Thanks Garteh - I do have a tendancy in black and white to go for higher contrasty shots at the mercy of highlights. Perhaps I should reign it in a little...
