Hi

I'm staying near Oswestry tonight prior to a business meeting tomorrow - can anyone recommend any good photo points? Perhaps canal side?

Thanks

Which side of Oswestry, the Shrewsbury or Wrexham side?

If Wrexham, head for Chirk, super viaduct and the canal is a nice walk too.

If you are the Shrewsbury side head for Shrewsbury itself, some great old buidlings

Enjoy!

Hi

I'm on the A5 so Shrewsbury side. Going to drive up to Chirk and have a walk. Might have time for the light railway tomorrow.

Thanks

Yeah forgot about that!

Try dropping Stuey a PM he lives in Wrexham I think, he may have some suggestions too.

Thanks for the ideas, I went for a walk along the canal, but was soon distracted by a cool pint in an air conditioned pub!

If I can get my job done in the morning I should have time to do he light railway before heading back .

Cheers

Sorry - I seem to have picked this up too late

I can see the pint could have distracted you

Depending on which way you are heading after the 'job' tomorrow, should you be travelling North on the A5 then why not detour to Llangollen for an hour or so - plenty there including steam trains, Dinas Bran castle, horse drawn canal boats, Plas Newydd made famous as such by the 'ladies of Llangollen'.

And those suggestions above made by others

Cheers

Hi Stu

Llangollen sounds like an option. I was last there about 30 years ago on a narrow boat!

Thanks

Hi John

There is also the Thomas Telford's Aqueduct at Trevor basin 3 miles from Llangollen

Don't stop at the Sun Trevor pub though - you may not want to leave

Cheers

Well I managed to get to Llangollen this afternoon and it was full!

Loads of people, coaches and the car parks were full - so I ventured out into the beautiful countryside and had a play.

I'm going to do all my post processing on the iPad. Will post some images here if I have managed to produce anything worthwhile.

Sorry John I should have mentioned that the main car parks are usually full but you can often find a space in the East Street/Parade Street car park or the one by the Ponsonby pub

Looking forward to the photo's

So I needed a few RAW images to checkout conversion and PP on an iPad. We are going to Menorca at the weekend and I plan on taking the K5 with the 18-135WR along with my SMC F 50mm 1.4.

These are a few samples from today, PP with Photogene. I've resized them as well.

Hi

still trying to get my head around using the iPad to PP RAW. I have a couple of RAW converter APPS. Also been using Photogene - this supports RAW.

I plan on using the 18-135 for everything whilst away - probably take the 50mm to use in the evening.

Anyway I enjoyed my free afternoon, then got stuck on the M60 on the way home!!

Cheers

John
