Optio S Problem

I've just got my Optio S which I had bought from amazon.com. I read the manual carefully but I guess there's a serious problem with the three buttons below the LCD. Menu, display and playback buttons don't seem to function. Is there a possibility that they are locked? I can take pictures and upload them to my pc but can't view them through LCD as playback mode can't be turned on. Anyone with an idea that can save me?

I've an S and everything worked off the bat. Has yours been like this from the moment you took it out the box? Also, when you press any of the 3 buttons, do you get an audible beep?

If you've answered yes, then no, then it's a trip to the camera hospital me thinks. You could try phoning Pentax UK first on 01753 792792 to see if they can shed any light. Let us know how you get on.
