Optio M85 slide show on TV

Can anyone help? Each time I plug in my camera using the supplied lead to the TV and watch a slide show, the picture number always appears on the top right of the screen. Can this be turned off or is it necessary to download the pictures on to a pc first ?

I don't know the camera but is there a button marked "Info" on the back? If so, try pressing that as you play the pictures back and it should scroll through your display options.
