Optio A40 Remote with Continuous Shooting?

Has anyone got an A40, as I have, and the Remote control unit [unit E or F]- which I have not? If so can you tell me whether if I get the Remote can I use it to operate Continuous mode? The infra red options are in the same menu as Continuous drive and when I choose one the other disappears off the screen. Thanks guys
