Optio A20 - whats wrong ?

A few days ago I bought a Pentax Optio A20 digital camera. Five to 10 minutes after switching the camera on the access light starts to flash orange. While it is flashing orange all functions on the camera freezes - even the switch off button. The flashing goes on for quite some time before the camera rectifies itself. Besides pointing out that the light is called an Access Lamp (page 11 in the Penax Optio A20 manual) there is no other information in the entire manual about the lamp and its functions. Have I bought a faulty camera ? What is wrong with the camera ?

Mine doesn't do that. Have you formatted the SD card in the camera? Other than that, it may well be faulty and you would be entitled to a replacement from the supplier.

I have the same camera..

I just recently placed a 1GB SD card 150x speed..
then when I took my first shot...that same light started blinking as well and everything froze until I popped the card out.

I did format the card...it si brand new...

I placed my slower speed SD card and does not do the same thing...

is there a LIMIT of speed these cameras can only handle?

ok...tested the same card on my digi SLR and works fine...

So I have 2 of the exact same card and same speed...

So can't explain why???
