Purchased mine from Pixmania too (couple of weeks ago) but at the moment it seems to be trouble free. My documentation suggests i return it to a registered Pentax dealer during the first year and to Pixmania during the second year.

Hi there,
I've got a compact Optio S and had it plugged into PC transferring pictures, when I disconnected without disconnecting through PC, I've been informed by pentax that a board inside camera needs replacing. Camera is less than 6 months old. As with you i brought abroad and am not covered under warranty.
This to me is a design fault that shouldnt happen, I'm taking it up with pentax HQ in uk in Slough, Heron Drive.

It started off ok, as per instructions, then it froze. No buttons would work.
when I start it up, it goes to start up screen only. Unless I hold the display button, that way I get the menu options, everything seems ok, but it doesnt go into shooting mode. I can sometimes get voice recording mode, thats it. 5 hours old.
Bought it from Pixmania, where do I send it to? back to france? or to some Pentax outfit over here.
Any advice would be greatly welcomed.
