Optio 550 Lens cover problem

The lens cover on my Pentax Optio 550 does not open fully any more and is leaving a shadow on the photos I am taking. I would therefore be very grateful for any help in resolving this.

I am actually very desperate as my wife is about to deliever in the next few weeks and would quite naturally like to take pictures without the problem.

You probably need to return the camera for repair, but under the circumstances if you have purchased from a good supplier it just might be worth asking them if you can borrow a camera whilst yours is away for repair?

This is not unheard of, so it's worth a try. It's a valuable thing to buy from a reputable dealer that you can communicate with in person.
