Hi gartmore
Thanks for the reply.
I had plugged in one optio(no cf card in so it was on optio internal memory) with usb to mac. Opened up the disk image and pulled the img files accross to the mac. (unknown to me I think I must have also tranferred the stored data...ie the software to make the camera function). I wanted to transfer those pics onto the cf card on the other optio so I unpluged the first camera and plugged in the second one. Tried to move the img files accross to the second optio and they would not go. Unpluged it and switched them both off. When I swithted them on I got a message on the first one..."no menu data" and on the second one "A90".
I'll stick to the card reader in my printer from now on by removing the cf card and slotting it into the printer reader....so much for using the usb cable!!!!
Trouble is I think the damage is irrepairable...had a nessage from Pentax saying that it needs to go to their 3rd party repair agent...Johnsons photopia at Newcastle under Lyme. If thats the case then I guess they will charge a daft fee!!!....Guess I'll just have to get a couple more from ebay!!
Many thanks
Geoff

Geoff, I think I'm right that the 330RS is quite an old camera in digital terms so repair certainly wont be a financially viable option.
You can download the firmware for the 330 or the 330GS but not your RS from Pentax USA here: link
Given the situation it might just be worth trying the two versions they offer but its entirely at your own risk.
Good luck and let us know how you get on.

Had 2 perfectly good Optio 330RS and was trying to switch pics using a USB cable from one compact disk to another.
Big mistake....unpluged the usb cable..on one camera I have a message "A90" and on the other "no menu data".
It must be a software problem, I guess. How can I fix either or both of these...any ideas??
Thanks
Geoff
