Cheap and cheerful I would imagine, and probably cheap and dismal when the 2x converter is used.
I don't think I could lift one of those beasts, never mind hold it steady.
Bear in mind that a tripod should be attached to the lens. If you used the camera on a tripod with that lens it just might rip the lens mount out, or perhaps the base of the camera. That would be some leverage for the camera to withstand.

I've never seen or used one however I recall seeing some comments stating that's it's absolutely rubbish.

I think it's absolutely superb. I've been looking for a replacement table leg for months!
