One image 3 ways

A shot taken at Pysgodlyn Mawr woods in foggy conditions. This taken as the fog was lifting. I liked the original version and of course did the mono as a matter of course. Looking back at the original I liked the muted colours but couldn't help wonder what it would look like with some warmth in the highlights so I did a third version!

Any preferences?

Mono all the way for me Super.

Yes, the mono has got presence and atmosphere that is lacking by comparison in the colour versions

I do like the mono best, I might try cropping a little from the left hand side (and then probably change my mind)

Do also however prefer the warm to cool colour, makes the distant clearing somehow more inviting

It's a nice image and the kind of thing I miss since we lost our dog (and motivation for long winter walks)

Slight change of opinion, I prefer the first one, as shot, what does strike me is the tree trunks have a sight lean to the right, I'd correct this and this would also emphasise the terrain a tad more.

The first and third work equally well for me, although I think Chris is right about the slight lean - but then again nature doesn't tend to look for "perfection" in the same way we do

Thanks all, appreciate the comments. The trees are growing on a hill so they were growing all over the place. Some have even fallen, taking a huge piece of the ground with them as they've gone over! The trees to the far left and the central one are all straight but then some lean to the right and a few are leaning the other way! Tried to get a happy medium!

Pete, sad news about your dog. I'd love a dog to keep me company and the kids would also love a dog but we work during the day so it'd be unfair on it so having to wait. Are you going to get another in time?

Thanks. It was a while back. We'd love another Italian Spinone, such a gentle giant. What's stopping us is one of the cats has kidney disease and my wife spends an inordinate amount of time keeping it healthy and she's worried the balance would be upset!
