thank you.

Does the lens say "USSR" on it? It could be an Industar 50mm lens. Alternatively it could be a Leica! Does it fit on the Leica?

Early Zenits also used M39. The rub is that if it is a lens designed to work on the rangefinder, even if you get a M39->PK adaptor (available on ebay) you will not be able to focus the lens on infinity. If it is for the Zenit, you should have better luck.

We need a bit more info on the lens and the camera to be of more help.

I dont know what camera it came from, it is unused in a plastic case with the lens screwed to the bottom, it has zelox writen on the lens.

Would it be any good for macro work it is non focus so would not be of much use unless it was used on bellows,
done a quick search on Ebay no adaptor is listed, thanks for that

Zelox appear to have made darkroom equipment so your original suggestion it is an enlarging lens seems likely. When you say "non focus" do you mean it doesn't have a focusing ring? If so, then the only way to use it sensibly would be on a bellows for macro work.

It is indeed an enlarging lens by the sound of it. Useful for macro work on bellows but not for anything else really.

Get yourself a set of M42 bellows (the genuine Pentax ones are by far the nicest) and the M42-M39 adapter and you'll have the makings of a very nice macro set up.

thanks for the post.
