Sorry, but I thought this was a photography forum!
Or is this more about jealousy? I notice some people are quite happy to photograph sporting events but seem to think that the rest of us should not? I think someone has an ulterior motive! Perhaps we should stay at home and swoon when we see his shots?
Is that aimed at me??? I have no jealousy with regards to photography. I certainly have no ulterior motive and I certainly don't expect anyone to swoon over my work.Sorry, but I thought this was a photography forum!

I have photographed one sports event and have no intention of shooting anymore sporting events.
If I was to go to the olympics as a punter then the camera would stay at home just like it does when I go to a concert for pleasure. I want to enjoy the show without having to look through a thousand 3 inch screens trying to capture a dot on the stage. The majority of people at these type if events just go for an I was there photo and totally forget about getting lost in the emotion of the event before them.
That's what my comment was aimed at.

I agree with everyone, and I'm hoping, with the "red button" on Sky, I'll get to see some events I have a shred of interest in instead of some people running around in a big circle as fast as they can again and again and again etc. I'm sure some of the utube videos will be classics too
