Well caught Stuey. The camera tracked the train very well indeed, was Cromwell going very fast?
I'm glad you included both colour and black and white images for comparison.

great stuff, I reckon that 2nd shot is superb, brings out the huge size of the viaduct.
C&C welcome.

Cheers guys
The black and white versions are my favourites which is not usual for me but I had to post some colour and some b&w
I wasn't sure if I should have taken the K10 with a wide angle as well to include all of the viaduct but I was in a rush and just picked up the k5 as it had the 70-300 already attached
I have tried many time to convey the scale of the viaduct but never got a shot I am happy with - perhaps I have managed it this time by use of the train albeit accidentally

Whilst watching my son play football on Saturday morning I got a call to say that this steam engine would be making an appearance over the Cefn Mawr viaduct - I was late back but so was the train and these are what I got
Not the most difficult subject for the af, however, the K5 af tracked it well - not one out of focus shot
C&C welcome
