Old lenses

Hi everybody just joined the site and was wondering if my old Ricoh lenses will cause me any major problems when i get my K-r at Christmas. I know about the pin problem and this was ok in the shop, they are a Miranda 75-300, a Sigma 70-210, a Rikenon 1:1.7 50mm and a Miranda 1:2.8 28mm.

The 50mm has a good reputation. Not sure about the rest. Just try em and see! Don't listen to people who say old lenses are rubbish on digital. There are good lenses and there are... not so good.

Yea, I will get a bit used to the camera first then give em a go and see what happens, cheers.

I have a Ricoh 50mm f/2 that works perfectly on my K200D. It's very sharp wide open, I understand that the f/1.7 is even better, not sure about the others but take care of any pins & they should work just fine.

I don't know your lenses but it depends on the type of lens as to how the camera will work with it.

On my K10D m42 lenses work fine in av whilst pk manuall lenses work in manual mode using the green button for metering - check out the manual as it shouod explain which mode you need for each type of lense such as setting the camera to allow the use of the epeture ring.

I use 'older' lenses much more often than my later ones somehow I just prefer them
