I didn't wait and bought into Nikon FF back in May 2009. Never regretted it. I don't shoot with cheap glass though so there is a cost factor.

Well, I really don't want to switch. There's a lot I like about Pentax, always have. I do agree with you Chris which is why I also use Nikon. I should have said "those who don't want a different brand" should not be disappointed.
That's precisely why I'll be so disappointed if, after nearly 7 years since buying my first dSLR, they still can't deliver the one thing I want most of all.
Anyway, no point worrying now until it comes out and the reviewers do their thing. It'll be very good, I have no doubt. But whether it's good enough in the way I want, only time will tell.

Chris likes to shoot birds and planes on the wing, so AF speed is especially important to him. His initial choice of brand was perhaps not the happiest, therefore.
For the rest of us, the K-3 would seem to represent extremely good value (unless we "need" more than 24 million pixels).
But I suspect there will be a noticeable improvement in the AF area, so talk of jumping ship is premature. First impressions are no substitute for proper side-by-side testing.

Indeed. I have a Nokia 808 which is capable of taking pictures with 38MP. And yes the resolution is much better that can be achievable on my K-5s.- Wanting FF isn't just about 'moar megapixels'. The IQ of the K-5s is a squillion times cleaner though.
It's worth noting that for general snaps in good light there's no less enjoyment to be had looking at a pic from the 808 ( which I always use the 8MP pixel binning mode ) than there is from the K-5. OTOH there's a squillion reasons why a serious photographer would choose a DSLR over a mobile phone...... obviously
