i was wondering if any one as done any infered photography

i would like to have a go but have no clue where to start

if any one can point me in the right direction (as long as it is not over a cliff) as i seem in the dark

This is a huge subject, so I'd suggest starting with a book on IR photography.

As regards digital cameras we have three main options:

1 Use the camera as-is but with an IR filter
2 Have the camera modified to shoot IR images only
3 Imitate the effect in Photoshop

Once you have a bit of knowledge (from the book or internet sources such as Wikipedia) you will be ready to launch into some experimentation to see what works for you.

Another option is

film camera
Ilford SFX film (will be mono)
dark red filter

not as extreme as IR but gives you a flavour - doesn't require the extreme handling proper IR film (is that still available? - and maybe since film cameras are aging they can be more prone to light leakage)

i know im not a brilliant photographer but i want to do somthing diffrent
