Notifications via email

I've just had a notification of a thread i subscribed to, so that when a reply is posted, i'm notified. Pretty standard forum procedure, except this one is 22 days late.

Is there any reason why this might happen ? Is the notification system here just a smidge slow ?

The notification for your post in this thread was pretty damn quick in comparison. Only 45 mins. ( notified 8.30pm ) Not bad

There was a problem, which has now been addressed. The backlog should clear pretty quickly now.

It seems to me that notification I have added are being removed, again!

Nothing is being removed Barrie, so maybe there is an e-mail delay occuring. You might find that all your notifications arrive late in a batch.

If you reply in a thread it automatically switches to notifying you. The button at the top will read "remove notification" if that is the case.

It's not the email notification John. I'd say that after I've responded to an email notification, the thread is not being reset to notify me of the next post. Unless it's me have a series of senior moments.

I've just been promptly notified of your post Barrie, so it seems to be working OK here.

Three minutes between your post and notification that time. It's not necessarily a senior moment, sometimes these things are subject to delays.

I have 2 email accounts on the same PC (different email providers).
A test message from one to the other has, in the past, taken 24+hrs which puzzled me.
The a friend explained that sending an email is a little like sending a message by semaphore from Lands End to John O Groats and having to confirm the receipt of words before the next is sent. The if there is a persistent problem with a link find another and effectively start again.
