Non Pentax gallery shots

Dunno. Seems an odd thing to do. I don't post my Lubitel shots on here for exactly that reason. The scanned film shots do come up with some odd stuff in the EXIF though.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I've wondered where to draw the line. I have a lot of pics taken on my Canon 20D but using the old Pentax M42 lenses, are these 'pentaxy' enough for inclusion?

A camera is a box that concentrates light onto a censor. The real quality of the image lies in the lens used. I think they are Pentaxy enough..
2x K10D bodies, 2x FA 28-200 3.8-5.6, DA 18-55, A 50 F2, 50mm Macro, 360 FGZ. Still saving for the 60-250 DA* Also have a Z10 35mm and a K1000 just for fun. IF PENTAX IS THE ANSWER, WHO CARES WHAT THE QUESTION IS...!

I don't think so. I think you have to use a Pentax camera. If you start saying well I used a Pentax lens but not a Pentax camera where do you draw the line? You could just as easily be using a Pentax fit Tamron or Sigma on a Canon. Is that Pentaxy enough? Of course not.I've wondered where to draw the line. And then you will also end up with the argument about 3rd party lenses on a Pentax too.

Blimey, have you been reading the K5 threads? Talk about pixels at dawn...

Because this is a specifically aimed Pentax User site images should be shot using Pentax equipment. A Pentax lens on something else would have to be allowed in, but the principle should be clear enough.
The spirit of the rules is what is important as we are a Pentax community here. EPZ has all the scope anyone using another marque could wish for.
Where non-Pentax images are used they may well be removed if they come to our attention.

John - the example you have is very rare. The converse (a third party lens on a Pentax body) is much much more common. Presumably this is acceptable.

I would say so, after all it's pretty usual for people to use independent lenses on their Pentax cameras. It's not a problem. Common sense and the right spirit of things is all we need, the more we try to make a rule book the more bogged down in detail we become.
Just look at government legislation to see how that works...

So (some, maybe most) people would be happy me submitting pics off my Canon 20D which I have shot through my lovely SMC Takumar M42 lenses. Not like I'd be doing competition shots or anything fancy, just means I'll submit more photos to the site. I can't afford to do everything on film, once I'm doing my own dev and scan I'll be able to do more.

I don't see how anyone could object - as long as you gloss over / don't mention the fact that the body you used was a Canon, and the lens exhibits typically Pentaxy qualities! DSLRs are just a box with a sensor anyway, arguably it's the lens where the Pentaxiness resides
