Have seen a non-focusing K10D for sale. Seems a reasonable price (£125).

I have manuel lenses for my chinnon and am not so fussed about auto focus.

My question is, how easy would this be to use with my manuel lens? Am happy to fiddle with the settings. I have seen a few places that say its easy enough.

Also, how high a price do you think would be a top price?

Have seen some ist body only aswell, how are these for the above?

Reasonable easy. Focus confirmation (green hexagon) works.

You can also install a split prism screen (which might require adjustment by means of shims).

Thanks sterretje.

What is the green hexagon?

Is the split prism screen for the back? can i not look through the view finder and do it? I had a play with a kx in a shop. is it not like that?

In the viewfinder, a green hexagon lights when the AF system is in focus.

Split prism screen is installed in the viewfinder (instead of the original Pentax one). See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Focusing_screen.

Depending on how the AF has failed you may not get the green hexagon.

It might be the auto focus has been reprogrammed to an alternative button and the seller is not aware of that.
