Well this is my first posting on the Forum and thanks for all your discussions on the site that made my recent upgrade to a K10D from a *ist DS an easier choice. (and was it worth it !)

Somewhat disconnected as it was an issue with the AF360 and the DS (but the K10D mention might get a speeder response as there appears to be a lot of activity on this forum for the K10D!) as well but wanted some sanity check....

I purchased the AF360 from John Lewis when it was 'Reduced to clear' for a bargain price of £ 75.00 !! It was sold as new stock as an ordered item that was never picked up. It works well and performs but.......

the automatic zooming function of the flash is hardly 'silent', is this a normal 'feature', or should I look at bringing this up with John Lewis?

I guess it's not that I am going to use it to stalk wildlife or the like but interested in anyones thoughts.

By the way anyone spotted the bargain used DS's for sale on ebay!!

Perfectly normal - my AF360FGZ is also quite noisy - it has a lttle motor the physically moves the flash element in relation to the lens at the front of the flashgun.

I'll second that, you do hear the motor zooming the flash!
