here the answer from Pentax Europe GmbH (Hamburg, Germany):
"Ausfall der Hauptplatine und somit Wegfall des kompletten Betriebssystems.
Die Kamera muß eingeschickt werden!"
by the way: i got the answer one day (!) after my request on their homepage (www.pentax.de)
