My guess would be different compression algorithm or settings??
Photoshop used to save JPEG in quality varying from 1-10. I noticed Photoshop now saves up to quality 12. If you chose 12, it probably has less compression than what the camera uses and results in larger images.

However, I am curious about one thing.
Shooting RAW+, if I take a PEF file, import it into CS3, export it unmodified to max quality JPG, I get a JPG file that's much bigger (about twice as big) than the corresponding JPG straight out of the camera.
Any idea why?
