Looks almost tarantula like...

Its a Huntsman spider and completly harmless. This one was about 3inches across the legs but i have seen them bigger. Very common in these parts.
I heard my daughter scream out spider and i quickly grabbed the camera.

good thing your daughter didn't grab the camera...i suspect neither the spider nor the camera could've survived the ensuing carnage....imagine trying to explain that one to the pentax repair technition...

I left him to do his thing, they are good for keeping the termites and other creepy crawlies out of the house.

Well friend at least my expenses have been saved for a while. My wife who is always after me to get our walls renovated from time to time was pursuing me to get some ideas from online. As expected I made a search and I landed upon this thread, and spiders are like monsters to my wife and seeing this one I asked her if she would like the walls to be decorated in this fashion and she got the fright of her life. Rest assured she wont come back at me for some days now! Not a bad idea to decorate the wall likewise it seems!
