You can download .PDF manuals for both the 6x7 and the TTL prism finder from here:
http://www.butkus.org/chinon/pentax/pentax_6x7/pentax_6x7.htm
I just had a quick scan of the one for the prism and it suggests that it won't give a reading without a lens attached (last page under "Caution"), hence you've no way of checking until you get hold of one.
As for where to buy, eBay is probably the greatest source but many camera dealers stock used 6x7/67 lenses - sometimes they appear in the classified section on this site but not very often. Camera fairs are another good source if you have one going on nearby.

FFordes often stock 67 lenses and are worth checking out.

on my desk sits a recently purchased pentax 6x7 body with the metered prism viewfinder from ebay. now before i go on a hunt for a lush 105mm lens, please could someone just help me to figure out if the metering is functioning ok?? if not i want my money back mr ebayer!
am i correct in saying the needle will not react without a lens fitted in the meter window?! is there anyway to determine if this is functioning without a lens? i am unqualified in the use of medium format to figure out if this the norm!!!
also if anyone know of where i can get a 105 lens, or possibly a 75mm or 90mm
thank you
have a nice day!
