Hi all, just joined so thought I'd better introduce myself. I'm Shel, not a Pentax owner yet, but I am looking to buy one asap (scouring sales etc as you do!). It will be my first dSLR as well so prepare to be bombarded with a zillion newbie questions about lenses and settings etc.

Thank you all for the warm welcome

I am looking for a Kr I saw a cheap one with lens kit but it was sold out (it was a red one). The shop said that they couldn't order any more because the coloured ones were being discontinued, they had black ones in but they were more expensive. I was told that was because they were charged more for those than some of the colours, but could order more if they sold out of those. I really arn't much bothered about colour but the red one was around £20 cheaper so I looked at that one obviously, being on a bit of a budget.

Its OK I have patience, I want it NOW but I can bide my time

Shel think about when you trade up red would make your market smaller !! where as black is safe as houses the Kr is a great camera no matter what colour
All the best

David I'm good with black it goes with anything I have seen one for £350 with the lens kit, I think thats a pretty good price so I maybe will go for that. Just need to get a bit more fund-age in and I'm there
