Personally I'd say while the site is elegant it's too slow. First time I went there I gave up before the intro was over and if it hadn't been for all the well deserved praise the others gave you I wouldn't have gone back.
OK I'm impatient but so are lots of people. If I visit a site then I expect to see something worthwhile instantly and not to click on an image that then takes seconds to display some sliding effect that still gives me no information.
To quote the advert - I want it all and I want it now. Can't deliver that and I'll move on. I realise I do miss out on stuff because of this but I can cope.
Incidentally clicking on prices didn't seem to show prices - even if they're there I didn't see them.
But I will agree it's an elegant site with excellent examples of your work and you can mute the music (as I did).

Agreed.Chris if your clicking the thumbnails the pics should load instant
However, the fade out takes a second; then there's another second of blank, then the next pic loads. On average, it's three seconds from click to show.
It annoys me. But for the ten millionth time, I'm not in your potential customer base. Please them, not me.

The original post was not to please folk in terms of the website design etc.. but just to show folks here my latest wedding pics
Criticising my website design is old news

Sorry my first post is a bit on the negative side. It's just that if you really want comments on your pics alone you would be doing every one a favour by putting them on a proper sharing site.

Welcome to the forum.
The Your Photos section is intended for members to share their images and get feedback.
It wouldn't do much of a favour if everyone went elsewhere to do that...

I took mikemoate's message to mean that he would prefer to see just images pete wanted comments on. They could be viewed on this forum linked to a photobucket type host as most of us do anyway, or pete could just link to them on his website.

I think this is a very valid point.Sorry my first post is a bit on the negative side. It's just that if you really want comments on your pics alone you would be doing every one a favour by putting them on a proper sharing site.
There's a big difference between someone posting a link to a picture, genuinely seeking critique, and someone posting a link to a website containing hundreds of pictures, saying, "what do you think of this".
I think the latter is primarily advertising, but mixed in with a desire for what is effectively free consultancy.
Make no mistake: a wedding photographer's web site has one purpose only.
