There was an old man with a beard,
who said it is just as I feared,
four owls and a wren,
43 Goldfinches and 29 Siskin,
have just made a nest in my beard.
(Sorry Edward Lear)
(I'm not saying you're old either Ken)

The snow produced a whole selection of previously unseen birds here, unfortunately it was far too cold to sit around with the window open for ages waiting for them to get used to it, and you can imagine what photos taken through hundred-year-old glass and secondary glazing look like...
We had Goldfinches, Greenfinches, Bullfinches, Chaffinches, and even a Great Spotted Woodpecker.
Last week there were a couple of Red Kites in the field over the road. Guess who managed to get some sort of flu thing resulting in not being able to eat or move much since last Thursday!

I was told on Saturday where I work that there were a couple of Sparrowhawks nesting in a very nearby clock tower so as I always take my camera bag I wandered over when I finished .. nothing. Went to have a look today and again, nothing. The chap that told me about them said Sunday and Monday they were sitting out by the clock and even did a few aerial manouvres at one point.
