New novice at best

Hello again,

Finally registered after a few months of browsing the forums. Bought a K-r with the 18-55mm and 55-200mm Lens kit mid/end of last year.

Was about to take the plunge and get a 55-300 DA lens, but realised every picture I take so far is pretty bad.  I tried taking a picture of the moon last night but ended up with a blur in the sky, not to mention most other pictures don't seem that much better.  I'm beginning to realise this isn't a point and shoot camera, and I'll need to get my head around the F stops, shutter speeds, and ISO settings if I want to take a decent picture.  I may just end up getting a Tamron 300mm to learn on then take the leap to something better once the only issue is the PF at 300mm rather than image quality all round.  To be honest I've looked at most of the pictures at 300mm and they look neither soft or purple, and while I may want the best I don't think I can use it at the moment.

Anyways, thank you for all the great posts on the site.  It's helped me out a lot so far.

Thanks, I may post some pics later. Just reserved a lens as well. Now just a good book on learning.
