Hi,

Got myself a K-30 with the 18-135 WR a coupla weeks ago, it's my first foray into the DSLR realm, and am loving it so far. Previously I have used a Z-20 35mm SLR. The last rolls of film shot with it are currently being processed.

My main topics to photograph are nature and wildlife, bit of landscapes and macro as secondary interests. I still need to get a lens in the plus 300 range (have more than enough covering sub-300s). Pentax did me no favours in releasing the 560mm, not that my budget currently even allows for the lens cap on it, nvm the entire lens!.

Welcome.

General consensus seems to be one of the large Sigma zooms up to 500mm. I use the 50-500mm OS but others are just as happy with the 150-500mm which is a bit of a bargain atm from SRS when you take in the £50 cashback Sigma are offering.

Ooops, just realised you are in SA but you should get some decent wildlife pics where you are at any rate ... very jealous.
