What does the "WR" mean?...water resistant?,weather resistant?...It's a bit like a showerproof coat!,how many of you have had one of those?,and what constitutes a "Shower?"...They should have gone down the DA* road and given us a superior lens to compliment their existing range. The new lens is no better optically than the existing 100 macro,so why do we need it?.....a disgrunteled "Beginner!"

Ken, I think WR stands for weather-resistant (according to the Pentax UK web site anyway).
I think you're right with regard to the lens, it's not a step change more of an incremental upgrade. It does look a little nicer but uses the same optical formula with the addition of curved aperture blades. I doubt many DFA 100 owners will be upgrading to be honest.

That's definitively a fake. It is taken with a wide angle lens at close distance to make the lens look larger.

And I've seen the high res. image. Enlarging it, you can see the gold marking. It's the DA*300 lens. And the exif on the high res picture say it's taken with a Canon Powershot camera

I don't think Pentax uses Canon camera for their publicity shots..

Yes there is the reflection but I think the biggest give-away is the lens that was there before it was photo-shopped, have a closer look
