Very nice, mate! Congrats on the new zoom and I like the compositions very much. IQ not bad at all for a zoom.

Thanks Lance. I have always been more of a prime lens user, but sometimes you cant beat the convenience of a zoom, especially if you are visiting somewhere with non-photographer friends.
It was not without some trepidation that I ordered this lens, given the poor review on photozone and other documented quality control issues.
My early thoughts are that it is a very good lens. It seems very sharp even at 2.8; I like the colours; and have NOT seen the CA/PF it is supposed to suffer from.
The bokeh is not the best, and that is evident from my second shot above. The AF can appear slow also, but is very accurate. I use a split-prism focus screen and dont find the need to adjust focus at all (unlike my 31mm Ltd for example where I dont use the AF at all).
I have only had the lens for 2 days, but early signs are that I will really find this lens very useful.

Would have liked to see all the cab in the first one, still a nice shot though.
C&C welcome.

In the real world, this just doesn't seem to be an issue. It was not without some trepidation that I ordered this lens, given the poor review on photozone and other documented quality control issues.

The quality of the bokeh is camera to subject dependant, and aperture dependant and focal length dependant and background dependant. Get all those tight and the lens does a great job, for a zoom.

I like mine.

The original shot did include the cab roof, but had some very bright reflections from the sun, and after cropping I avtually prefered this image. It seems to "concentrate" the image more, if you know what I mean.
