New Kit

I'm thinking of getting a k-r, I've already got an 18-55 kit lens with the DS and I'm looking to get something a little more flexibility as a walk-about lens. I've been looking at the Sigma 17-70 f2.8-4, has anyone used this lens or have any other recommendations?
