New Forest sunrise

Got up very early this morning so i could grab a session in the New Forest before starting work. On site for 6am. Pitch black in a place i had never been before, wandering across the middle of nowhere. Broke some simple rules, such as suss out site in daylight first, no where your going, plan ahead etc.
All good guidelines for a reason and as i wandered aimlessly across the Forest with no decent vantage point for the sunrise, i started to think i had wasted a morning......
But then as all hope seemed lost i came over the brow of a hill and bingo! A valley, good light, mist, craggy trees, heather. Some horses or deer would have been good but can't have it all.
At lunch i stopped off at Lepe Beach, a staging area for all the troops and supplies needed for D-Day. Quite a few bits remain, including the remains of a temporary pier.
What a wonderful day.

Looks like it was well worth the trip Russ! You'll be able to go back again and take some even better shots now you know the lie of the land!

The third one is my favourite and for what it's worth I would lose the frames.

Nice set Russ - for me especially the first 2 and last. Love the colour pallet in the first one.

Frames are really down to personal preference - to me they suite some images but not others. I actually quite like the edge definition the frame adds on the first image.

Well worth the early start. Number 2 shades it for me.
