Probably won't be £4-5 a roll like it used to be.... Long gone are the days I used to be able to buy 3xVelvia or Provia with processing vouchers from Fuji for £19.99. Last saw Provia 100F for sale at €15 a roll at the weekend.....
Looking forward to giving it a try though

Slide film does tend to be quite a bit more pricey. I more-or-less stopped using slide film when (a) Kodachrome 64 was discontinued and (b) I started using a data projector for all my lectures rather than 35mm slides. I have a couple of rolls of Velvia 100 120 film to finish-up though, and a couple of rolls of Fuji Neopan 1600, all of which has been sitting in my freezer for a while now.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

Kodak have today let retailers know it is available for order, so it'll take a little while for it to trickle down and appear in shops. I was going to talk to Silverprint and see if I could put in an advance order.

Bring back Kodachrome 64 and make the digital "experts" learn about photography.

Ag Photographic say you can pre-order it, but then there is no button to click on to do so...!

Hopefully that will be resolved soon.

PS please don't turn this thread into another largely pointless digital v. film argument. I use both, they are different. End of. Thanks.

I've only shot a couple of rolls of slide film, both Velvia 50 and found the 35mm so hard to scan that I gave up. An attempt at DSLR scanning also failed.
I'm glad to see another film available, especially as it didn't take years to get it to market (looking at you, Ferrania) but I doubt I'll be buying any.

I got my roll of Velvia done by peak processing
Cost me a small fortune but they did a great job...

I find slides easier to scan if left unmounted like negatives. Medium format I use fluid mounting to scan.

This is very exciting news! I am looking forward to trying the new Ektachrome.
The last few years I have been scanning my fathers Kodachromes and Ektachromes from the 1960s and 1970s. I scan 35mm slides and negatives on a Minolta Dimage Scan Elite 5400, and the results from Kodachrome and Ektachrome are very good. I have only shot Velvia 50 in 120 format and have had mixed results with scanning this on an Epson flatbed. Dense Velvia 50 film is really very demanding to scan with good results. Hopefully the new Ektachrome will be as scannable as the older versions of Ektachrome. Anyway, exciting times for those of us that enjoy film photography.
