New 3rd party lens in K mount

Posted 27/05/2016 - 11:45 Link
From. Lomography

I Daguerreotyre Achromat is now available in a K mount , I am intrigued by this lens , and it seems to be attracting considerable interest .Although mine has cooled slightly with the £100 price increase .
But t seems as Lomography has a relationship with Zenit. The Russian lens makers say they also have a
Zenit Helios in m42 mount £60 and
A Pentax M42 to K mount adapter £14.90

As well as:

Mc Zeniter 16/2.8 fisheye in K mount.

Have Ricoh missed a trick by not approaching Zenit as a lens Partner?

Interested to hear Forum members thoughts about the new releases.

The Russian lenses can be very good, but have a long history of variable quality control. The cameras likewise, although the old Zenit(h) SLRs were robust enough to probably use as a car jack.

The newer lenses look very interesting, and I have reviewed at least one of them, the 32mm Minitar, but they are a very niche product. Lomography is a specific set of styles and has a very enthusiastic following, so it's well worth looking into.

The nearest thing pentax offer is the lens cap lens for the Q series.
Best regards, John
