Need a little help with CS2

Is it possible with photoshop CS2 to process a batch of JPEG files. I need to resize to make uploading faster. I can do it one at time, but that is gonna take all day to "Getter Done".

I don't have CS2, but Photoshop from V5 onwards supports "actions". You'll find a panel for them with a set of controls that look like those on a tape recorder - you basically press "record" (the circle), open / resize / save a file, then press "stop" (the square).

Then point it at the next file(s) and press "play" (arrow) - it'll just go through the same motions and you can record as many or few steps as you like (adding sharpening possibly or raising contrast +1 or whatever).

There probably is a dedicated batch processor somewhere in CS2 but I've never upgraded that far so I haven't used it.

Is it only resizing?
I'm working from CS4 now but the CS2 looks quite like CS4 out of memory so try to follow.

Open CS2.
Then go to File > Scripts > Image Processor that's what you want
You can also say in that window (Image Processor) that it must follow an action.

Ah yes you're using PS5, forgot that.
I only know Photoshop up to version 7, the rest is before my time.

Make it into an action.

Simply make a logo or something else, let it upload that in a layer on top and set the Layer blending option to "screen" it will blend into the image or try out other blending modes to see what you like.
You can record what you do in an action and then when converting them to a lower size you can let the program preform the action automaticly.

I've no idea if you can link an action to a key shortcut.
You can simply "play" the action through the action tab, it will then do his thing.

Well just looked into the shortcut menu, you can not have an action under a key but you can have the function "play" from the action tab under a key. If you make sure you've selected the right action you can press the key and it will preform that action.
That's the best I can offer.

I've an action I do 90% of the time so that could be handy.

You should be able to resize the watermark to a percentage of the photo, that way it should work better in an action.

Probably because of the user interface, it's really not beginners friendly, I believe they are tackling some if it with CS5.

Been using PS since V2.5 - I just get stuck in my ways It's good to see how other people do things. I used to learn loads from looking over my student's shoulders when I was 'teaching' them! ha ha.

From what I've seen they are going to bring more options under tools themselves instead of hiding them in the menu.
For example when you want to straighten a photo, you get the ruler tool draw the line go in the menu and select straighten. With CS5 they have make a button "straighten" that appears in the tools options when you select that tool. Such sort things.

I also finally found out where most is but bringing things closer to the user is not a bad thing in my eyes if it makes things easier and faster. But I wouldn't like it if they mess up the menus

When is CS5 coming, I've heard April somewhere but aint sure?
