I actually prefer it to point forwards. Buy a DA*50-135 and it will point down for you
The neck strap I use is a Lowepro Voyager C neoprene strap with quick release clips, very comfortable and highly rocommended.

As my friend used to say: "shaddup Lockyear!"
Cheers, Kris.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I only use a Camera neck strap when shooting weddings, the rest of the time it's off.

I use one of these too. Very comfortable and versatile for when you don't need the neck strap.

I use Optech straps that were recommended by a Forum Member, when this subject was discussed earlier in the year.
They are very comfortable and have snap buckles for quick release.
Chris @ SRS sells them.

Thanks for the response - I think I'll give the Lowepro Voyager C a go, and maybe invest in a heavier lens

I do a lot of walking around with the camera (k20d) under my coat, but the way the strap is designed it always wants to point it forward, which is a bit of a pain with the longer lenses.
