here's one I've not yet tried!
I have more than one k10.
on a photoshoot, recently, Gerri asked me to show her which shots were hers.
I did a smart album, sorting by lenses, and viola!
my question:
is there a way to name the camera, that allows the camera to tag the images? Ie k10-1 and k10-2, or Don's and Gerri's?
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

just a guess but does the camera stamp its serial no into the EXIF?

If so there must be some software to allow you to sort by an EXIF field of your choice.

Or a really simple one if you have more card space than you need, set one camera to DNG and one to PEF.
you don't have to be mad to post here

but it does help

An educated, correct guess
PhotoME ( www.photome.de ) will show a lot more besides the camera serial number... including the temperature at the time of shot!

There must be something that can pick that out and sort it...

well there is one easy way.... if one remembers to do it during import...
I can sort the files by import session, and then tag them that way....
but I was just thinking there must be a simple, set and forget, setting in the pentax software, to get around this.

One of my K10D (I traded one for a K20D) had the date set one year forward so I could figure out real quick which one did what.

I just downloaded PhotoME and I am amazed about how much information there is stored together with the image!
A nice view is the graphical representation of the EV values for each of the 16 metering segments.

For what reason would the camera use the internal temperature?
Camera:K20D|Ist*DS|Spotmatic II|MZ-10
Pentax Lenses: DA16-45|DA50-200|50A 1.7
Tamron Lenses: 28-200

I'm going to see if I can make it 2 for 2 and say noise reduction. Temperature effects the noise produced by the CCD so perhaps it applies more NR at high temps?

Or it might be a thermal shut down to protect the camera if it overheats. Actually the latter is probably more likely although less impressive.
