Thanks to Restlyes (Richard) I now have a new lens to play with.
To say the thing is heavy could be the understatement of the year.

Not got much time this weekend to play but this was just a quick test using the 2x teleconverter, have to say I am very impressed with the quality considering this is uncropped (reduced size for Flickr) 600mm, hand held.

It's going to take some getting used to, the focusing has to be so precise.
Taken a few minutes ago outside.

How many sherpa's does it take to move around?

Mind the quality looks just fine...

Mike, so glad it finished up with someone who will use and appreciate it. Yes it does take a bit of getting used to but its a great bit of kit. Just keep measuring your biceps and see how they progress !! I used to hand hold it all day when racing. Enjoy.

Does it work with your AF1.7X converter?

Sorry Barrie, missed that as I don't often come into this part of the forum. Anyway, yes the 1.7x converter works well with it and has the added advantage od turning it into a semi af 500mm f5.6 lens.

Yes, pulls out a little drawer that takes a thin 49mm filter.
Got to find a thin Polarizer for it.

I'd be interested to see how it fares against the DA*300.
