I like the second one a lot, I'm afraid the first does nothing for me. maybe a bit too fussy and not enough contrast in tones?
Please call me aj,

I use a Pentax K10D, on a MacBook with LightRoom (vers 1.3 + beta 2)

I'm with Justgetoutandride on the first one, upping the contrast could make the bridge 'zing' out a bit more and I like the second but... perhaps more contrast too and this is really a shot that demands the use of hyperfocal distance focusing.

Well, both good photographs but I prefer number one both for composition and contrast. Maybe it's my "old" eyes.

I'm with the first two replies, the first one has no interest in the bottom of the frame, IMHO it needs cropping

Second one I like, where is it :
My Names Alan, and I'm a lensaholic.

Both were taken in "Park Sonsbeek" which is a very nice park close to the center of Arnhem (the Netherlands).
