It is a nice expression on her face, not bad a shot. If you were to critique it then the background would spoil it because it is slightly cluttered.

Thanks, I thought she was really cute
Yeah, the distracting background, I got rid of a nasty shadow on that wall but there's only so much I can do. Maybe I could clone out the laundry basket and change it into an extra super wide sofa
If only everyone lived in a photo studio

Cuteness without a doubt, it is difficult in home situations but you have done very well, the depth of field is spot on with the background nicely blurred.

you might do well to get rid of all that empty space above her head, too.

You have lost a little detail from the face while dealing with the background - and somehow she is not quite the same - look at the skin tones on her right cheek again.
Not a clue how I could correct that . Perhaps start from the Master and crop as Ken suggested ?

Yeah that's due to a Silver Efex reprocess.
I haven't handled it the same way. I wish this program had a "last settings used" like photomatix does. Think I'm gonna have to save presets for every project.
Anyway, starting the edit from scratch now, trying to have a better separation from the background.
Will post the result here once I'm done

Ok,
I think I'll settle with this

High resolution
I've been staring at this picture for too long now I can't see the differences anymore
By the way, I wasn't sure earlier what this was taken with.

Thank you all for the kind words
Sorry for the constant edits
I decided the skin smoothing was unnecessary

high resolution
Is imageshack suddenly painfully slow for you too?

I really like the constant inprovement shown - it should serve as a reminder to us all that most photo's can be improved with a little thought and help/ advice from others
Sooooooooooo cute - reminds me I need to make more effort to go and see my two nieces

I'll delete this in a few days but since I'm really happy with it I still wanted to show.
Full resolution
K-5 with DA35 or DA40 (not sure as the exif is gone and I'm not on my PC with the original file)
A touch of lightroom and Silver Efex Pro
Hope you like it
