The blurred area works well and the transition between the car and its surrounds is very tidy - were you using layer masking? In any case its nicely done. Well worth the experimenting!
I think the car itself needs a bit of work - it lacks contrast and depth in the colours - the blacks are weak and red needs a boost. Also the car shows a fair bit of noise - I'd give it a dose of luminance noise reduction also.

I thought i'd try and see if I could make it look like a 'rig' shot. After about an hour and a half trying to get to grips with CS6 (Massive headache as I use Lightroom) this is the end result. I think its ok, a bit rough and ready but worth it.
What do you think?
