i ment i got it really cheap,i knew when i saw it on gum tree what it was and picked the phone up streight away, luckily he still had it,got the lot for £60 and its mint looks hardly used, when its back from cla i hope to make a good profit and buy a digital slr,but who knows i love the feel of it and looks so i might get a bit attatched after a bit of use,ive only ever had one pentax before and that was am me super,my last 2 film slrs were an f3hp and an f100.the lx does feel quality

lol, very lucky, just browsing bored one day,got sick of looking on ebay so had a nosey on gumtree,it was quite local in sheffield, advertised spares or repare,i rang him up and he said it wasnt firing at all shutter speeds,i got it home to find it had no batteries hence only fired below flash sync, just had sticky mirror and perished foam above the mirror, hadnt been used for many years, should be back this week or early next week from asahi photo ltd, hopefully working like a swiss watch

yes i will,im in penistone, not far from stocksbridge,i rang a couple of days ago and they said the technician was on with it so shouldnt be long, heard mostly good reports from both asahi and harrow,i spoke to both and both said the same thing, change mirror bumpers, mirror foam, lube and calibrate so went for the cheaper option, just cant wait to get it back and run a roll of film through it.

Don't sell that LX. It is a true classic, which I imagine no DSLR will ever be. If you don't have the instruction manual, go to http://www.butkus.org/chinon/pentax/pentax_lx/pentax_lx-splash.htm where you can download a free copy. Do send Mr Butkus a contribution, he offers a wonderful service.
Try some night shots, LX will meter down to EV -6, allowing accurate exposures measured in many, many minutes. Try THAT with almost any DSLR. The LX is the pinnacle of Pentax' 35mm cameras.
Or, if you decide to sell, let me know! My LX could use a friend.
