MY K30 has finally arrived wooop

Hey guys got my k30 yesterday i've hardly put it down since i got its got some many settings i need to get used to it is so much fun has anyone had the problem of a tripod not being able to take the weight of your camera where as soon as you get set up the camera slowly moves downwards?
never the less love it all ps has anyone got any usefull tips of taking pictures of moving objects?

I love my K30, I haven't tried it on my tripod yet, so that's a bit worrying. I have kept mine on auto at the mo but have used A for landscapes. It's a fantastic camera. What lens have you got on it? I have 18-55 on mine.

Depends on the tripod I have a light weight manfrotto tripod which I use for a small camera and the one time I tried my "big" camera on it it did the same as wasn't made for use with a heavier camera lens combo. My big manfrotto tripod was in the boot of the car. My lighter tripod has a built in ball head which wouldn't take the weight. So just make sure tripod and head is the right one for the job. You dont need to buy the most expensive just check the weight it will take.

The only tripod that's any good is a sturdy, usually heavy, one. Light p-lastic tripods wobble about too much. There are plenty of sturdy ones though that meet a compromise - not too bulky and not too light. These are often carbon fibre. They are, however, expensive.

If I were to need another tripod I would go for Eddie from the Three Legged Thing range. Excellent and perfectly capable of taking a K-5 plus lens, so no problem with a K30.

Hi auratodd i was using my 100-300mm lens testing it out on the night sky i went straight to manual with my k30 as its the only way to learn plus if you get used to auto mode it can make you lazy also to get the best results usually that is out of auto mode try going into manual mode work out your F Numbers they are your aperature your aperature is how big the hole in the lens is the higher the number the small the hole the smaller the number the larger the hole this then increases the amount of light the lens will let in then you have shutter speed that is great fun to play with just try not to do what i did and go to far but sometimes its the way to learn i hope this is helpfull also it gives you chance to understand how to set up your iso accordinly.
