My first corporate gig

A very good friend of mine has started his own PR company. He asked me if I'd be interested in helping him with a charity event for a local organisation - taking shots of guests when they've paid to have a photo with a few celebs.

First time I've ever done anything like this. Here are a few images:

As you may have guessed we had the Chuckle Brothers and Dennis Taylor. The world cup ref Howard Webb also present for shots.

I used three 360FGZ's - two in umbrellas on light stands left & right and one on the floor in the middle pointing upwards. I used the Sigma 24-70.

A dye sub printer was used to print out the shots rather quickly for the guests so they had to be good images straight from the camera. I'm pleased how it went.

Techincally they are good, you just need to work on your positioning of the subjects, the last image is excellent.

As one of the chuckle brothers is short, he would have been better positioned stood in front center rather than on the end, as you did in the second shot, but then balance the subjects out on teh back row, so the two tallest guys would be on the end, creates balance in the image then. When he is on the end the image looks unbalanced and as though he has crept into the shot, hope that makes sense & helps a little.

Good effort though & a great opportunity.

They were great blokes. Barry the smaller of the Chuckle Brothers was hilarious - I struggled to keep a straight face at times as his expressions were brilliant.

That's good advice Cabstar, thanks. Pressure was on as guests were queueing up and I didn't want to spend too much time on each shot, but with simple adjustments as you say, it would have improved things a little. All part of the learning curve!

Well done, they're lovely and sharp and I assume it was all done for the charity so they should be well pleased. I think the shot with the girl in the blue dress shows a bit of red eye though. I wonder why it is just the girl.
