My first "Real" attempt with Macro

AS the title suggests. This was the first time I've tried to get close up and personal- as it were- with my subject.

C&C please.







I was amazed at how narrow the D.O.F. was. But I suppose thinking about it, and reading a similar post on the subject on here, it makes sense.

not bad for your 1st time a couple of good shots here do you use a dedicated macro lens ? i use a sigma 50mm 1:1 macro with or without a x2 teleconverter please feel free to check out some of mine at sanderscapes.com. keep up the good work..

I used the kit lens that came wth the camera ( ist DL ) and switched the camera to macro mode.

nice first tries, but if you really want to get some good macros you'll be needing some more apropriate kit. The kit lens doesn't focus particularly close. You can often get second hand MF macro lenses for relatively small amounts of money, alternatively a set of diopter filters would get you started fairly cheaply.

Hi, as a flower macro lover myself, I have to say that the second shot is my favourite. The colours are lovely, it's just a shame that the "noise" detracts a little from the beauty of the flower, and that one of the petals seems folded or ripped.

I'm still on a learning curve myself but one thing I have learnt is ISO 100 is great for getting the detail (just a shame that the weather conditions don't always agree!)
